Email from a Football Coach (Sept. 16, 2024): This was a wonderful book regarding the ups & downs of playing college football at an elite school. Your journey was inspiring. I met you with my grandson at the ND bookstore prior to the Northern Illinois game. You graciously signed the book and posed for photos with him. I wish I had read the book prior to meeting you as I would have had a lot more questions. Most writers write to a target audience. I have coached college football as well as 16-17 age group for many years. I even did several stints at ND under Lou Holtz. While reading your book I kept thinking that this book is a realistic look at what it takes to play at this level. The sacrifices, work ethic and talent. You had the gift of speed and great hands, but your greatest asset was your determination. This is a must read for Hight School senior football players who often have a misguided view of their own ability and the rigors it takes to play at that level. Reading this book may not tamper their enthusiasm but it will give them a dose of reality. You have the ability not only to sell this book to that group, but your experience and guidance would definitely be appreciated. I am in Canada so where can I purchase this book? I intend to give them to players who have enquired about making the jump to college football. My advice was not as practical or timely as yours. Congratulations on a great book.

Text from a New Friend (Nov. 19, 2024): “My grandson is an avid reader, who consumes books way beyond his age…seven-years-old. I gave him your book, with an explanation, and on the first night he read through page 25 (chapter 4); the next morning he called to tell me where you were recruited for colleges! He loves the book and is very excited! This is from my daughter … ‘Dad – Timmy is tearing through this book. Loves it!’”
